Please don't send an email that contains many email
addresses in the "to" box or the "Cc" box. |
If you are sending an email to multiple
email addresses, please use the "Bcc" (Blind Carbon Copy) box. This
will hide all email addresses.
If you are using Outlook Express (Outlook is similar) and it does not have a
"Bcc" box, in order to activate it, first click "reply" to
this email and then if you click on the third tab at the top which says
"View" and enable or tick "All Headers". You will only have
to do this once only.
You will notice an extra box will appear above. You should have The
"To" box, "Cc" box (Carbon copy) an extra box
"Bcc" (Blind carbon copy) and then the "Subject" box.
If you have a "From" box it will show your address.
In the "To" box, put your own email address. (Yes you send it to
yourself primarily)
Put nothing in the "Cc" box.
Put all the other addresses in the "Bcc" box.
When you send the email it will come back to you and will also go to all of the
other addresses BUT all the recipients will only see
your address, maybe their own address but no-one else's.
If everyone does this, they will eliminate the long list of addresses being
transmitted to a potential spammer and we can all remain anonymous. |
